they are, in part, a beautifully minimalist reflection of some of the best fascinations of the natural world...like the butterfly preserve in Ventura where thousands upon thousands of Monarchs gather and rest during the mid-winter months. My husband and I were privileged enough to see this phenomenon and shot this little video which doesn't do it justice at all..
